About Laurie

Laurie is the best!

I hold a doctorate in both Homeopathy (D.H.M.) and Oriental Medicine (O.M.D.) and am a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.), as well as a Massage Therapist (M. Th.) and Holistic Health Practitioner (H.H.P.).  I am licensed by the state of California and the NCCAOM (the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine).

Drawing from several modes of therapy including acupuncture, herbs, homeopathy, flower essences, nutrition, and body work, I am able to create a personalized healing program.

I opened my practice in 1980. I have treated individuals and families, spoken at conferences, taught classes and workshops, and am the author of "Natural Medicine for Families and Children" and "Pediatric Pearls of Wisdom".  I am currently working on a book & deck of cards ,"The Art of Living - Wellness Deck".

Growing up in Green Bay, Wisconsin and spending most of my childhood up at Archibald Lake, where my family has cottages, most definitely influenced my desire for both adventure and stillness.   Wandering through the woods and exploring the many aspects of lake life gave me a deep appreciation for the "in-between space" - that place where anything is possible.

I went through Catholic schools and majored in Music & Psychology at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin.  I then travelled throughout Europe and across the United States in search of "the meaning of life". I studied at San Francisco State University, S.B. City College, the Institute for Holistic Studies, California Acupuncture College and the Hahnemann College of Homeopathy.  I love to research and continue both as student and teacher.

My work is my passion and my purpose.  I am a Sagittarian with heavy Scorpio influences who loves to travel and quest for truth.  I've gone through some very "tight" passages in my life & have developed the ability to look at the big picture and then get practical.  I think that is why I'm good at what I do.

I swim at sunrise, practice yoga, meditate, sing when so moved and photograph the full moon rising. I love films, good books, walking my pup, Bayley on the beach in the early morning, sitting in front of the fire in the evening, and sleeping under the stars.  Fine food and wine with friends is my idea of a perfect evening. I enjoy meaningful conversation and love to laugh and I am awed by synchronicity or "divine choreography". Life is full and I am filled with gratitude.
